This past week, I signed off on the final proof of Misery Cove—a surreal moment after months (actually years) of writing, revising, and reworking. Some people call it a galley, others a proof, but either way, it’s the version that heads to print.
Next, my publisher let me know the official release date, which may still be a few months away, but the finish line is in sight. In the meantime, here’s the cover.
I couldn’t be more excited about how it turned out. It captures the mood and atmosphere of Misery Cove in ways I didn’t expect—quiet tension, hidden guilt, a sense that something just beneath the surface is waiting to be found.
To those of you who’ve cheered me on, family, friends, critique partners, writing groups, and readers who’ve come along through earlier drafts, thank you. You’ve helped carry this book to this point. Thank You ❤️
Misery Cove is a mystery set in a fading Michigan beach town where a travel writer returns home after her estranged mother’s suspicious death and uncovers a past the town would rather leave buried. There’s an old motel with peeling paint, a brother she’s always struggled to read, and questions no one wants answered.
More to come in the weeks ahead, including the release date. Thanks for reading!
